i don't know about you but i'm feeling 2022!
haha cheesy start i know, but who else is pumped at the start of a new year?
i love this (slightly overwhelming) feeling of a fresh start & a new beginning.
it's easy to get lost in getting stressed over what is expected at the start of a new year so i like to set some goals, make a vision board and have a chat on here with you guys to help me get inspired for the year to come! remember to be gentle with yourself as you dive into new habits & goals this new year, progress is gradual, don't be too hard on yourself. Most of all focus on you, your habits, your goals and not on what others expect, remember it's your life, live it how you want to!
A quick little reflection on 2021. 2021 was a crazy year full of amazing milestone moments and stressful scary situations, a rollercoaster. My theme in 2021 was 'opportunity' & when i wrote about that word at the beginning of 2021 i said, "I'm going to use every opportunity laid in my path to grow & live in the movement," and i can honestly say i have done this the very best of my ability. 2021 was my senior year of high school. I was blessed with so many amazing opportunities in 2021, I began working in a creative job, did some surfing lessons, found & bought my dream car, got my license, graduated high school, worked hard & scored well in my final exams, got to celebrate at two formals and .... got offered a position in my dream course studying interior architecture at QUT! (which i will be studying in 2023).
Now, getting into this year, 2022. I was struggling between going straight to university or taking a gap year leading up to 2022. I had always planned on a gap year, but when you see people around you moving on you feel like you're falling behind, but when i eliminated the idea of falling behind everyone else and focused on the fact that i'm still moving forward just in another direction before study i felt more at peace with my plan to take a gap year. I know i'll still go to university and study my dream course. In the end the decision to take the gap year came down to a tonne of different factors, i want to spend more time with my family before i move, i want a bit of life experience before moving away from home, i need to earn some money to support myself when i move & be comfortable, i want to take some road trips, overall taking a gap year in 2022 is the right fit for me in this chapter of my life.
So that's the plan for 2022, a gap year, which will include tonnes of fun new adventures & experiences. My word of focus for this year is 'discover'. I want to discover myself outside of high school. I want to discover more things i enjoy. I want to discover who i really am in this new chapter of my life. I want to take some road trips and discover more of the amazing country i live in, i'd love to travel overseas, but for now with what's going on throughout the world i'll focus on discovering all the awesome locations Australia has to offer.
Last year i started the year by making a vision board & goal setting & i found it super helpful to look at during the year to stay focused on achieving what i set out to do at the start of the year.

this is my vision for 2022. road trips, hikes, surfing (well learning anyway!), seeing snow, going to a concert, earning money, health, beach days, believing in yourself & your dreams & so so much more.
Thanks for tuning in, drop your dreams, goals and visions for 2022 in the comments i'd love to hear them :)
Let's make 2022 a year of discovery, growth & happiness.
I believe in you & so should you!
xoxo Madi Grace
